The production of “Methode Traditionelle” sparkling wines has been an integral part of the winemaking at Blue Pyrenees for many years. This unique sparkling wine is made entirely of fruit harvested from our own Estate vineyard. Vintaging, maturing and packaging also occurs on site. This dry rose sparkling wine is made from selected parcels of the red grapes Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier resulting in a pink wine. Some Chardonnay is also used for balance. Aging with yeast lees in the bottle for 6 years before release makes this wine perfect for most occasions but should be served chilled.
Tasting Notes
| Colour: |
Brilliant salmon pink with a fine but persistent effervesence. |
| Aroma: |
Yeast autolysis characters of freshly baked bread along with strawberry confection. |
| Flavour: |
Classic sparkling Pinot Noir structure with maturity and softness surrounding the red apple fruit flavours, bakery confection and a fine acid backbone. This is a complex wine with many flavours but most importantly for sparkling wine, it has balance and finesse, highlighted by a crisp clean finish. |
