The Dry Grown Shiraz is made exclusively from the Blue Pyrenees Estate vineyard. The 2016 vintage certainly delivered dry and warm growing conditions with approximately half the average growing season rainfall. However the robust old vines weathered the vintage conditions better than most others and the result was a ripe concentrated regional dry Shiraz. After 2 weeks on skins, then pressing, the wine was racked to barrels, two to ten year old French and American oak barriques, for secondary fermentation and 24 months maturation. Final barrel selection, blending of those barrels, and a light egg white fining occurred before bottling in 2016.
Deep ruby with purple hues.
Fragrant ripe juby blueberry fruit aromas plus herbs, spices and toasty oak.
Dark plum fruit and licorice intermingled with regional anise notes precede a long lasting, fine tannin rosemary flavoured finish. The medium weight but firm structure and vibrancy of this wine ensure it has many possible food matches but try Greek style lamb.

Wonderfully ripe and inviting, the bouquet shows blackberry, dark cherry, vanilla, tar and floral characters, followed by a superbly weighted palate that displays excellent depth and intensity. It is supple and silky, gorgeously framed by loads of polished tannins. At its best: now to 2026.
